John Mayall has been doing this blues thing now for over five decades (he released his first single in 1964), exploring the form in all of its incarnations, from gutbucket country blues to the more urbane jazz side of things, and amazingly, he's always sounded pretty much like John Mayall, a blues everyman who has always surrounded himself with the best bands and players, a big part of the reason he is still a successful touring act in his eighties.

Panosvyö is the eleventh studio album by Viikate. It was released on 2 May 2014, as well as a CD, LP and digital version. The album contain cover of Motörhead traslated in finnish.

Formed in Nottingham in 2010, Twilight's Embrace draw from a range of influences, blending slow and majestic doom-laden riffs with twin guitar harmonies that switch between the delicate and the destructive, overlaid with deathly roars and gothic baritone choruses. Debut EP 'Reflections', described as having "confident songsmithing" by PowerPlay magazine and 'thoroughly recommended' by Rock Sound was released in September 2010 and drew favourable comparisons with Opeth, Insomnium, Paradise Lost, and similar artists. This earned them a well-received appearance at the prestigious Bloodstock Open Air festival the following year.Follow-up EP "Traces" was released in April 2012 to similarly positive reviews and wide play on internet radio, and the band is now recording material for a full length release, due out later in 2013.

This double CD compiles recordings of 20th century oboe concertos made in recent years with the RSO Frankfurt's solo oboist Fabian Menzel. The selection does not attempt to be representative of oboe composition at the end of the last century, since such a repertoire is to extensive and varied. The five pieces presented in this edition, however, are interesting and significant contributions to the genre and vary greatly in terms of their conception.

Valery Gergiev continues his Shostakovich symphony cycle with the release of the Eighth Symphony. The work, imbued with a deep sense of sorrow and fear, is considered to be one of the composer’s finest scores. The authorities expected a victorious anthem in light of the Nazi retreat, but Shostakovich appeared too affected by the casualties and ruin of the war.

A deluxe edition of the album was released on May 21, 2013. It is available in two six-panel Digipak configurations, each featuring the album’s new stereo mix on CD and the new 5.1 surround mix on Blu-ray or DVD, plus three exclusive, previously unreleased bonus tracks, including two live recordings from Primus’ 2012 “3D Tour” and a Bassnectar Remix of “Here Come The Bastards.” Claypool stated, “Musically, it holds up incredibly well. Sonically, it holds up fairly well. There’s some old-style reverbs that are a little bit syrupy. With modern technology, we can fix some of that stuff. But we don’t want to mess with it too much, because it is what it is. We want to fatten it up a little bit.

Ildebrando Pizzetti (1880-1968) belonged to the group of Italian composers (the so called ‘Generation of the ‘80s’), his contemporaries were Respighi, Malipiero and Casella. Of these composers, Respighi and Pizzetti composed relatively little for the piano, and their works for the instrument tend recall music of the past - with echoes of baroque and Gregorian chant detected in many of them. Pizzetti’s love of melody is quintessentially Italian – a predilection for song, dramatic lyricism and at time moments of great joy and passion – all components found in not only his orchestral music, but in the works for piano on these CD's. Many are exquisite miniatures, but ……
