Drummer Lenny White doesn't explore much new territory on Renderers Of Spirit, which contains nothing that will make you forget that he played drums on the legendary Bitches Brew sessions for Miles Davis, or that, along with Stanley Clarke, Chick Corea and Al DiMeola, he helped define 1970s jazz-fusion as Return to Forever.

This CD contains two symphonies by Finnish composer Kalevi Aho. His multi-layered, polyphonic Fifth Symphony is coupled with the six-movement suite-like "Insect Symphony", which is regarded as one of the leading works of Finnish Post-Modernism. Based on Aho's opera Insect Life (1987), each of the six movements of the tragi-comic symphony is named after an insect, and every single movement constitutes a separate micro world of its own……

Katrine Madsen (born 7 March 1972 in Århus ) is a Danish jazz singer, composer and teacher. She studied at the Royal Academy of Music in Aarhus. In 1994 she formed the group Swing Quintet which debuted with I'm Old Fashioned in 1996, which was followed by Dream Dancing in 1997. She has also appeared in Ed Thigpens Ed Thigpen Rhythm Features, has toured with Lars Moller on saxophone, Jan Lundgren piano, Jesper Bodilsen on bass and Morten Lund on drums in different contexts…

Hungarian conductor and composer Peter Eötvös is known for his proficiency in Stravinsky's "primitivist" works; his Hungaraton recording of both 1917 and 1923 versions of Les Noces is viewed in some quarters as a watershed album in Stravinsky studies; university classes have been based around it and the insight the album provides into Stravinsky's working methods. That was made in 1988; since then Eötvös has not had much opportunity to return to Stravinsky, working closely instead with Pierre Boulez, the Ensemble Modern, and promoting his own compositions..
