German metallers MOB RULES released their seventh full length album entitled "Cannibal Nation", on October 19th via AFM Records. By building their own studio, a whole lot of new possibilities opened to the band. So the Dwelling Mound studio of guitarist Sven Lüdke became the place for MOB RULES to compose their new material. Manfred Mann's story isn't necessarily a complicated one – the band went through two distinct phases, neatly separated by a switch in lead singers that happened to coincide with a switch in labels – but their discography sure is complicated. It's cluttered with compilations, almost all of them recycling the EMI recordings from 1963-1966 when Paul Jones was the lead singer and the group was an expert, jazzy British R&B band.

Though classically trained, Bruckmann (b. 1971) composes his intricate frameworks from the perspective of an improviser, allowing ample room in his knotty themes for radical interpretations of the written scores. Indicative of his diverse interests, Bruckmann juxtaposes rigorous neo-classical motifs and spontaneously improvised interludes with dense contrapuntal charts, blurring the boundaries between classical, jazz and rock. Despite rotating personnel and instrumentation on each number, Bruckmann's singular writing style imbues the session with a sense of stylistic cohesion.

Landscapes is a series of works, four in all, written for the same ensemble, Danish Chamber Players.There are considerable differences in the characters of the four pieces, but they also have important features in common. The Landscapes all have an inward, meditative character, a kind of reflection on something infinitely enigmatic. The composer has said that in all four Landscapes he has striven for a simplified basis on which to work, using just a few tones to produce timbres, order in durations etc. Perhaps the simplified basis and the composer's economy of tonal material should be related to his wish to get behind the ten thousand things of objective reality, to see the landscape not as the myriad of details that it also is, but as a unity and totality, in fact a 'landscape'. Nice classic metal record from Poland with some cathcy songs. Vocalist's voice resembles James Hetfield sometimes. Musically pretty close to Manowar or maybe Blind Guardian.
