Tapestries for Small Orchestra, eminent trumpeter/composer Bill Dixon's new multi-disc set, includes two audio CDs of specially commissioned original music plus a documentary film featuring exclusive interviews and session footage (DVD available only with physical release). Made possible in part by a grant from the LEF Foundation's Contemporary Work Fund and the support of the Festival of New Trumpet Music, this project thoroughly documents the three-day recording session at Firehouse 12's state of the art recording studio, offering unprecedented access into Dixon's creative process.

The highly gifted Swiss clarinettist Reto Bieri makes his ECM New Series debut with ‘Contrechant’, a brilliant recital for solo clarinet that looks at new developmental possibilities in the ‘language’ of the instrument in modern music. A wonderful panorama of contemporary music for clarinet by giants of new music – Elliott Carter (the grand old man of US music who celebrates his 103rd birthday in December), Heinz Holliger, Luciano Berio, Peter Eötvös and Salvatore Sciarrino plus an intriguing work by much discussed young Hungarian composer Gergely Vajda.

Their fourth LP, entitled Agnus Dei, is fast, furious, and fucking hostile. The Italian four-piece comes charging straight out the gate like the hounds of hell are after them, and head straight for Golgotha. Their black metal influences set them apart from the majority of their labelmates, drawing a nifty little line between the past and present of Anderson's roster and repping hard for Team Satan while they're at it. Antireligious sentiment is no foreign concept to either black metal, death metal, grind, or crust punk, and it's satisfying to see that a band as invested in perfecting and perverting all four sounds is just as serious about doing the Devil's work.

Koi No Yokan is the seventh full-length studio album by American alternative metal band Deftones. The album is set to be released on November 13, 2012 through Reprise Records. Band frontman Chino Moreno characterized the album as "dynamic" with a full range of sound, noting that more contributions were made to the album from bassist Sergio Vega compared to their previous record, Diamond Eyes.

…Overall, Audite's Schumann: Fantasia; Kreisleriana; Arabeske is an excellent choice for these standard works whether one is coming to them for the first time or has sipped at this particular fount for many a season.

The only album from the Frech progressive quartet (inc. one British member) appeared on the market in 1972 (on a small Connection label) and featured English lyrics sung by Ian Jelfs - former guitarist of the UK progressive rock formation Circus (of Mel Collins fame). This rare album will certainly delight the majority of fans of early Caravan, Traffic and Brian Auger's Trinity (circa 1970) - with dominant and powerful Hammond organ sounds; tight rhythm section and impressive, jazzy guitar licks (somewhat similar to Allan Holdsworth and Robert Fripp). This LP doesn't contain any fillers and certainly belongs to the top of the early 70's French progressive rock. This CD has been carefully remastered (from original source) and sounds deliciously!

This 1968 album (by then very popular singer and keyboard player) is without doubt one of the best US record debuts of the late 60's! In contrast to the later Lee Michaels' recordings the Carnival Of Life LP is simply a full-blown psychedelic (pop) rock based on heavy Hammond organ sounds; massively charming harpsichord notes; fuzz-laden guitar parts (by the Euphoria member); very solid and busy drumming (by Eddie Hoh); catchy, Beatles-like melodies; memorable hooks and (last but not least) very clear baroque-pop influences. This awesome record is absolutely recommended - even in a first glance an average cover might discourage some listeners… The sound of that remastered CD is just gorgeous - much better and cleaner than previous, very noisy and muddy editon.

Nicholas Greenwood was the original bassist in The Crazy World Of Arthur Brown and then (along with drummer Eric Peachey) he played in progressive group Khan. His only solo LP (released in 1972 in terrific cover on tiny Kingdom label) not only had an impressive line-up (inc. Mothers Of Invention, Kingdom Come and Les Fleur de Lys members), but above all it was one of the most original records throughout the progressive era. This archetypal, progressive rock LP based on the busy Hammond organ passages; some charming sax and flute parts; sometimes very intensive guitar phrases - with a pinch of rather sinister-sounding strings. What an amazing album! Unfortunately, the original UK edition was sold in less than 100 copies and currently Near Mint vinyl copies are worth over 3000 euros! This carefully remastered CD will delight many fans of Arthur Brown's Kingdom Come, Affinity, Arzachel and early Atomic Rooster. Enjoy!
