This two-LP set draws its material from tenorman Illinois Jacquet's four Prestige albums, all of which have been reissued on CD in the Original Jazz Classics series. The attractive twofer did act as a fine sampler to Jacquet's music when it was released and it features Illinois in a variety of settings (ranging from a quartet to a mini-big band), but it has been superceded by the emergence of CDs. Highlights include "Bottoms Up," "The King," "How High the Moon" and Illinois Jacquet's haunting bassoon feature on "'Round Midnight."

Legendary Swedish heavy-progressive who released 6 albums between 1974 and 1992 (plus a retrospective in 1996) and reunited and released a couple of new albums from 2004 and on. However, the only addition to the normal guitar, bass and drums instrumentation is some mellotron here and there. It's musical excellence with plenty of extended gratuitous guitar jams and very intricate lyrics. In several ways, Trettioåriga Kriget ("The 30-year War" in English) can be compare to Änglagård and Landberk to sense their influence. The first, self-titled is in many ways like Rush circa 1980. "Krigssång" is an album that fans of 70's rock in general will enjoy, and not just progressive rock listeners…

Andy Summers remained an active and creative artist in the years before the historic reunion with The Police in 2007. Calvin Russell was an American blues rock/roots rock singer-songwriter and guitarist. Russell was born in Austin, Texas, on 1 November 1948. At age 12, Russell began learning guitar and at 13 joined a band called The Cavemen. In 1989, he met Patrick Mathe of the French record label, New Rose Records, while at a party in Austin and gave him a demo tape intended for noted Austin guitarist and producer, Charlie Sexton. He would go on to sign with the label releasing his first solo album in 1990 entitled A Crack In Time. In promotion of the album, Russell began touring extensively throughout Europe achieving a level of success he had yet to obtain back in the United States.
