The B-52s performed their first ever gig on Valentine's Day in 1977. And 34 years later, in February 2011, they returned to their hometown of Athens, GA to celebrate with this brilliant live show. Wig-wearing, boa-draped, glitter-covered fans came from near and far to see the band deliver a sizzling set that turned Athens' Classic Center into a cosmic dancehall. A B-52s live show is always the best party in town, yet here in front of their home crowd they turned it up a notch higher.

B.J. Thomas (born Billy Joe Thomas) straddled the line between pop/rock and country, achieving success in both genres in the late '60s and '70s. At the beginning of his career, he leaned more heavily on rock & roll, but by the mid-'70s, he had turned to country music, becoming one of the most successful country-pop stars of the decade.

A blues record dripping with soulful guitar licks, smooth vocals, and sweet horns, Restless Mind is the latest release from soul-blues guitarist/singer/songwriter Murali Coryell. This is Coryell’s first studio record since his 2009 release, Shake it, Sugar, and it is safe to say that this was a product worth waiting for. While the record starts off a little bit slow – the first three tracks are not Coryell’s greatest work – the quality of music picks up significantly with “I’m So Happy,” and lasts right up until the last shout on a fantastic cover of Marvin Gaye’s “Let’s Get It On”…

Jo Hell started playing in bars in the Montreal (Canada) area at the age of 16. After two years of playing jam nights seven nights a week, Jo Hell decided to start his own band, which he names "Jo Hell & The Red Roosters". As the years went by, the number of shows increased and the demand for the band became more and more obvious. They appeared at several festivals and the local popularity of the band began to shoot to the top. Many articles in the local newspapers, their appearances at local radio stations and television, as well as on numerous websites confirm the charisma of the band. "Jo Hell & The Red Roosters" came to Austin for "SXSW" in March of 2006. They graced the stage of Nuno's on 6th and were promptly featured at the "Red, White and Blues Festival" at "Waterloo Park" in July of 2006. Since that time the Jo Hell band has recorded 3 new albums: "Jo Hell" (self-titled) (2008), "Live At The Pjeireblues" (2011) and the newest - "Rockin' Land" (2013).

Shakatak have enjoyed a level of success and career longevity rarely paralleled in contemporary music. They are the Rolling Stones of Jazz-funk and their music just keeps getting better and better. After the success of their last release ‘Once Upon A Time’, a one-off project that saw the band re-arrange their classic hits into acoustic versions, Shakatak are back with a newly recorded studio album containing 12 new tracks.

Crossing the Bridge: The Sound of Istanbul is a 2005 film/documentary directed by Fatih Akın. The film is a journey through the music scene in modern Istanbul, Turkey as well as portraying its cultural life. It was screened out of competition at the 2005 Cannes Film Festival. It features German musician Alexander Hacke (member of Einstürzende Neubauten) as the narrator. Hacke and Akın travelled around Istanbul with a mobile recording studio and a microphone, assembling an inspired portrait of Turkish music — from arabesque to indie rock and rap.

Leo Sayer is quite an enigma. Mention his name today in most music discussions, and people look at you like you've lost your mind. Of course, anything you say after that is not likely to be taken seriously, and your friends will never let you forget it. What they probably don't know, however, is that there was a time when Leo Sayer was a very popular artist, and when you listen to the man himself rattle off the list of names he has worked with, you begin to understand that his musical influence and success is a lot greater than he is given credit for.
