Excellent and very logical pairing of two classic LPs on one CD – both were recorded in concert and feature the group in good form, singing beautifully and presenting generally light-hearted folk standards ("Winken, Blinken & Nod," etc.), along with the group's one big hit, "Greenfields," in what is probably its best released version. A fond and spirited look back at folk music as entertainment, and potentially a far more rewarding look at the group than either its greatest-hits or best-of compilations.

This issue is not a legitimate release and it is an Asia only issue. The mastering on this is different than the other Lobo CDs I have shared and this one has some tracks on it not found the others. I like this CD and recommend it to those that like Lobo even if you have the other CDs.

Seven was initially intended to form one half of a double-album for the Japanese market, paired with the record that would eventually become the album Tweaked. The sessions were split into two separate discs, with the pop sounding ‘Brothers’ LP getting re-branded as an Enuff Z'nuff album in 1997 for its stateside release. As well as the re-titling and new artwork, Seven contains two bonus tracks not available on the original ‘Brothers’ disc.

Delirium is an important band in the history of Italian progressive rock music, having been active since 1970. They originally formed in Genoa during the late 1960s as I Sagittari and their line-up consisted of Ettore Vigo (keyboards), Peppino Di Santo (drums, vocals), Mimmo Di Martino (acoustic guitar) and Marcello Reale (bass). The later arrival of Ivano Fossati (vocals, keyboards, flute) completed the band, whose early musical style was a mix of the so-called Italian melodic tradition and UK progressive influences, in particular King Crimson and Colosseum. This live album, "Vibrazioni Notturne", was recorded in 2006 and "captures" a performance in Trento…

Russia’s centuries-old geographic proximity to Muslim regions – historically regarded as part of the “orient” – has resulted in considerable cultural and artistic cross-fertilization, particularly in the realm of music. Most Russian composers during (and since) the Romantic era have thus incorporated elements of what one could call “oriental exoticism” into their compositions. Captivating pianist Tara Kamangar – an American of Iranian descent – has made it her musical mission to explore such musical connections, specifically as they apply to the traditions of Iran and Russia. In this, Tara’s first album for Delos, we hear illustrative examples in works by Glinka, Rachmaninoff, Shostakovich and Khachaturian.

The Atlanta-based sisters celebrate that unique genealogy and their own eccentricities with their debut full-length album, "Kin," on Restoration Hardware's label RH Music, produced by Chris Seefried (Fitz and the Tantrums, Lana Del Rey) in Los Angeles and Damien Lewis (Rihanna, Rita Ora) in Atlanta. People say madness runs in the family. They say the same about creativity and passion. That's good news for Larkin Poe's Rebecca and Megan Lovell, whose family tree includes tortured artist and creative genius Edgar Allen Poe. The sisters have self-released five EPs and their full-length debut is due out on Restoration Hardware's RH Music label later this year.

Violinist Stephane Grappelli plays his usual repertoire (standards ranging from Stevie Wonder's "You Are the Sunshine of My Life" to "Chicago" and the Reinhardt-associated piece "Minor Swing") in a quartet with the guitars of John Etheridge and Martin Taylor and bassist Jack Sewing. The music, although a bit predictable, is enjoyable, for Grappelli has never lost his enthusiasm for playing swinging jazz. He performs "Let's Fall in Love" and "Love for Sale" as if he had just discovered those songs.

Al Green fans will be aware that The Immortal Soul of Al Green actually marks the second time that a four-CD box set of Green's recordings has been assembled, following by seven years its predecessor, Anthology. That being the case, the obvious question is, why do listeners need another Al Green box set? The answer lies in the two conflicting approaches most often employed in box sets. Basically, two different audiences buy box sets: first, those who are looking for a single, omnibus collection of an artist's recordings that is more comprehensive that a "greatest-hits" album; and second, collectors who already have all the hits and are looking for rarities and unreleased material.
