Johnny Restivo was an American rock and roll vocalist. Johnny was born in The Bronx and released a single with RCA Victor when he was only fifteen years old. For this single Restivo was nominated for a Grammy Award for Best New Artist, but lost to Bobby Darin. Restivo never charted another hit. "Oh Johnny!" was the only one full-lenght album that he is released.

Ireland’s Cruachan have been hailed as one of the originators of folk metal, starting out way back in 1995 with their now almost legendary Tuatha Na Gael album, which had combined black metal with celtic folk. In the years to follow, the Irish went through several different style adjustments, all of them staying within the band’s context, mind you, going completely folk metal, then bringing back the black metal influences on their 2011 album Blood on the Black Robe, to now arrive at album number seven, titled Blood for the Blood God (second in their “Blood” trilogy).lood for the Blood God is the Irish’s most powerful offering to date and quite possible Cruachan’s strongest album in their already quite lengthy career. It is this organic feel and authentic package with the lyrics going hand in hand with the music, which sets the band apart from most of their peers and the conviction is palpable. Without a doubt one of the best folk metal albums of 2014 and it is good to see the band still going strong and pushing their envelope after all these years!

The Wes Side of Heaven, contains a selection of choice standards as well as the title tune, written by Severson and two originals tunes by bassist Todd Johnson. Listen as Rich and his musical co-horsts journey through refreshing treatments and fine improvisations by Rich, Todd and drummer Gary Newmark. Rich certainly gives tribute to a trio of demi-gods, Wes Montgomery, Joe Pass and Ted Greene. The magic comes as Rich inflects his own style and presence rather than just copying these players’ “licks”. This collection of great melodies is a great reflection of where jazz guitar is going and Rich and his musical comrades have given us a wonderful musical tour.

Dificil Equilibrio is an excellent trio (Guitar, bass and drums-percussions) from Spain that plays a powerful (mostly instrumental) Progressive rock influenced by King Crimson, Van Der Graaf Generator, and even Magma. The fourth album "Simetricanarquia" (2003) reveals an evolution in Dificil Equilibrio's musical approach. King Crimson's influences are still present, but these eleven mostly instrumental pieces also showcase the trio travelling through other musical worlds, sometimes near Gong (An impressive cover of "Dynamite" for example) or Robert Wyatt. It also includes some peaceful acoustic moments, and spanish folk influences…

It's not a new album, it´s a re-imagining of Last Patrol, with two new songs, six overworked songs and two live songs. "New Sounds, new vocals, different instruments & arrangements make for a weird 1960's vibe totally appart from "LAST PATROL"!"

Let's Pretend is the long-awaited album featuring Ellen herself singing from the Ellen Vanderslice Songbook. Eleven selections by this talented singer-songwriter are included on the CD, along with one Gershwin tune. Ellen is accompanied by some of Portland's finest jazz talent: Tony Pacini and Greg Goebel take turns at the piano; Phil Baker covers bass and produced the album; Mike Horsfall, who co-wrote much of the music, plays vibes; Neil Masson plays drums; the inimitable Lee Wuthenow is featured on tenor sax; and Chris Miller sits in on steel guitar on "Down at the Goodwill" and "Why Am I the Last to Know?" Recorded with great pleasure at Dead Aunt Thelma's Studio in Portland, Oregon in the spring and summer of 2010; Mike Moore was the recording engineer.
