The phenomenal guitarist Bireli Lagrene is joined by the WDR Big Band for a concert that is mostly a salute to Django Reinhardt, with a few modern twists added. First of all, Lagrene plays electric guitar. (Reinhardt played some electric guitar late in his career, though he is best known as an acoustic guitarist.) He also adds a vocal to a warm version of "The Shadow of Your Smile" (written over a decade after Reinhardt's death), while the opener, "Place du Tertre," is an explosive bop original by Lagrene that finds him getting a bit too coy cramming in a number of quotes ("Laura," "As Time Goes By," and even "Pop Goes the Weasel"). Seventy-two-year-old Jim Hall shows little indication of slowing down. Born at Pont-l'Abbé, Finistère, Brittany, he was the son of French sculptor Paul Landowski and great-grandson of the composer Henri Vieuxtemps. As an infant he showed early musical promise, and studied piano under Marguerite Long. He entered the Paris Conservatoire in 1935; in addition one of his teachers was Pierre Monteux.

Inní is the definitive Sigur Rós live experience, comprised of a double live album and a seventy-five minute concert film, capturing Sigur Rós last show before their well-documented "indefinite hiatus" at the end of 2008. Recorded and shot over two nights at London s Alexandra Palace, at the close of the world tour around their fifth full length album, Með suð í eyrum við spilum endalaust. The live album Inní a first for the band is comprised of the full set from Alexandra Palace, played in order with just one omission, and clocks in at one-and-three-quarter hours. Recorded by Sigur Rós in-house studio engineer Birgir Jón Birgisson, Inní s live audio recording is far and away the best way of replicating the full-force effect of standing in front of one of the world s most extraordinary bands for an evening.
