In 1986, as the rock world congratulated itself on its new, enlightened attitude to world poverty following Band Aid, a refusenik group of Leeds anarchists pointed out some of the inconsistencies behind the arguments.

It features Randall Bramblett, Warren Haynes and Gillian Glover (Roger's daughter). Again a proof of the diversity of talents within the DEEP PURPLE Family. Roger proofs with this album that he makes timeless music which can be 70, 80, 90 s or 21th century music. Great to listen to in detail, but also as music to join with others on the background.

Mostly recorded without Brian Jones – who died several months before its release (although he does play on two tracks) and was replaced by Mick Taylor (who also plays on just two songs) – this extends the rock and blues feel of Beggars Banquet into slightly harder-rocking, more demonically sexual territory…

In the era following the rock ‘n’ roll explosion and before the British Invasion, Pat Boone was second only to Elvis Presley as the USA’s most popular and successful male artist, racking up over 50 hits in the half dozen years following his chart debut in 1955. He was a marvellously versatile singer as well as a successful movie actor, equally at home with rock ‘n’ roll songs and romantic ballads, his warm and relaxed voice giving him an appeal across the pop spectrum, and it enabled him to score several landmark No. 1s in the US and UK with memorable hits like “Love Letters In The Sand”, “I’ll Be Home”, “April Love” and “Moody River”, among others. This 83-track 3-CD collection brings together the A and B sides of every single he released in the USA and UK from his recording debut on the Republic label in 1955 through to 1962, when he had his last Top 40 hits on either side of the pond.
