Teddy Randazzo is perhaps best remembered today for being a songwriter and producer during the mid to late 1960s. However he was initially immersed in the girl swooning teen idol sub-genre along with the likes of Fabian, Dion et al. Herein are three original albums, I'm Confessin', Journey To Love and Teddy Randazzo Twists. This is prime late 50s pop. His first two albums were geared to the standards markets and the third was (as the title suggests) devoted to songs that you could twist to. The bonus material includes his biggest solo hit, 'The Way of the Clown' along with a rare Italian language version of the hit.

N.T. Atomic System released their first album in 1973, a splendid album very rich in the vein of classic Ital-Prog culture with Vittorio De Scalzi himself playing flute and keyboards along with guitar… The music on this album is fully of beautiful melodies and dramatic instrumentation. On this album they have added the female vocals of Anna e Giulietta whose voice sounds great along with De Scalzi's. This album contains the bands rendition of Mussorgsky's "A night on Bare Mountain" (Una notte sul Monte Calvo),… a short but great instrumental track, sounding a bit evil and creepy. One of the standout aspects of this album for me is the great keyboard playing of Renato Rosset (piano, Hammond organ, moog, mellotron and electric piano).

Recorded live at the 1986 Reading Festival, where Hawkwind truly were one of the high points of an otherwise squalid lineup, Friday Rock Show Sessions takes its title from the BBC radio program that broadcasted the event to the rest of the nation and takes its contents directly from that broadcast – hence the omission of much of the set and hence, too, the abbreviation of the closing "Silver Machine," a performance rendered all the more memorable by the guest appearance of former bassist Lemmy.

For anybody going through a breakup, Frank Turner’s Positive Songs for Negative People is like the sun peeking through closed shades. Filled with warmth and rejuvenating energy, Turner’s romantic punk-folk swings with bashing guitars, extended cymbal rides, and arena-ready choruses. He scatters wisdom with the skill of the most brilliant barstool prophet. If only other singer/songwriters had the venom and vigor of Frank Turner, the world would be a better place.

Killer UK82 style punk from Mexico that is a heavy take on classic Partisans or GBH. "The song cycles “Kerner-Lieder” op. 35 and Liederkreis op. 39 by Schumann, recorded in 1954-55 for West German Radio, are amongst the foremost examples of Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau’s mastery of the art of Lieder singing. The listener is treated to pioneering interpretations which laid the foundations for these sets of songs to become established in the recital programmes of younger singers. In the case of the “Kerner-Lieder” this may well be the first complete recording. In both recordings Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau is heard at the early zenith of his powers as regards both his vocal technique and his crafting of the songs."

The saga of Blind Joe Death is an extremely confusing one, for those listeners who haven't been following Fahey's career from the beginning. In short: Fahey originally recorded Blind Joe Death in 1959, in an extremely rare, self-released edition of less than 100 copies. Though few heard it, his debut album was a groundbreaker on the acoustic folk scene in its unusually experimental approach to blues and folk styles, though its innovations sound relatively tame when compared to the best of Fahey's subsequent work. Fahey reissued the album in 1964 on Takoma, re-recording some of the cuts, and dropping one selection ("West Coast Blues"). In 1967, when the album was issued for the stereo market, Fahey re-recorded the entire album from scratch, resulting in performances of the exact same new material, but with improved fidelity and technique.
