is the fifteenth album by singer Melba Moore, released in 1986. This album featured two number-one R&B hits, including the duet, "A Little Bit More", with Freddie Jackson and "Falling". She scored other popular R&B hits including "Love the One I'm With (A Lot of Love)" and "It's Been So Long".
What a great video document of an outstanding band in their element and a great way to celebrate your support for what rock n' roll should sound like in 2011.It truly captures Black Country Communion and the essence of the band, from their tour earlier this year and clearly reminds me of the two shows I was in attendance at in the very beginning of their long live run.I won't go through the songs, as we're all familiar with them, but standouts to make mention of in this package have to include "Black Country", "Crossfire", "Faithless", "I Can See Your Spirit", "Cold", "The Outsider", "The Great Divide", "Sista Jane" and "Man In The Middle".It truly captures 100% Glenn Hughes vocally, live in 2011….
Hammond-driven Blues/Rock with soulful vocals, stinging guitar and groove drums.
This album is perhaps most significant for the process it set in motion – the collaboration between Gil Evans and Miles Davis that would produce Porgy and Bess and Sketches of Spain, two of Davis' best albums. That said, this album is a miracle in itself, the result of a big gamble on the part of Columbia Records, who put together Evans and Davis, who hadn't worked together since recording the critically admired but commercially unsuccessful sides that would later be issued as The Birth of the Cool. Columbia also allowed Evans to assemble a 19-piece band for the recordings, at a time when big bands were far out of fashion and also at a time when the resulting recordings could not be released until two years in the future (because of Davis' contractual obligations with Prestige).
Exclusive Chillout/Lounge compilation featuring 52 tracks from such artists as Lonnie Liston Smith, Pesheya, Sophie Zelmani, Kosmax, Daniel Ray Van Zyl, Unit Blue, DJ Sleeptalker, Anthony Island, Pete Dingon, Lazy Hammock & Zelonka, Brook Sapphire and more.
The Antidote is the fifth album by Morcheeba, released in 2005. It features Daisy Martey on vocals in replacement of Skye Edwards and is the band's first album with Echo Records.
Jacques Loussier has spent most of his career blending jazz and classical styles into a lightly swinging and highly melodic hybrid. He is most well-known for tackling Bach, but here he covers a range of Baroque composers. Loussier, bassist Benoit Dunoyer De Segonzac, and drummer Andre Arpino play pieces by Handel, Pachabel, Scarlatti, Marcello, Albinoni, and Marias. Loussier has a very light touch and the trio is laid-back, never distracting from the melodies. You can hear the influence of Dave Brubeck in Loussier's playing (especially on Marais' "La Sonnerie de Sainte-Geneviève du Mont"), and much like Brubeck's best work, there is a strong sense of warmth and intelligence on Baroque Favorites. The only complaint one might have is that the brevity of some of the songs breaks up the flow of the record. Nevertheless, Baroque Favorites is a very nice album.
The band and album name are kind of self explanatory, so be expecting a thrash bomb from beginning to end. The band's initial goal is to annihilate posers and crush anything in their path. Check it out, worthy thrash material. Enjoy…
Frontiers Records is pleased to announce the release of “Alloy”, the anticipated debut album from TRILLIUM the new Metal Project masterminded by American Singer Songwriter Amanda Somerville. Musically TRILLIUM melts Rock and Metal in a new, interesting and different way from anything Amanda has worked on so far. “Alloy” is also graced with the talents of several musicians with whom Amanda had the honor of working in the past. Sander Gommans (ex AFTER FOREVER, HDK) and Sascha Paeth (KAMELOT, AVANTASIA, EPICA, AFTER FOREVER etc) were the main songwriters together with the American singer on this album. They have brought a lot to the project and have certainly allowed the sound to be a lot richer and stronger."
This 1996 single-CD reissues the complete contents of two former LPs by the Oscar Peterson Trio (consisting of pianist Peterson, bassist Ray Brown and drummer Ed Thigpen) in 1959 and 1962. Although the pianist is virtually always the lead voice, Brown and Thigpen both make strong (if subtle) contributions to the music. Highlights include "Liza," "Con Alma," "Waltz for Debby," Brown's "The Gravy Waltz" and "Yours Is My Heart Alone." An above-average release (and rather generous at 74 minutes) from the much-recorded Oscar Peterson.
