From the Netherlands cluster of death metal diehards who have played in the legendary Sinister plus other extremely heavy bands such as Supreme Pain, Infinited Hate, Consolation and Houwitser, comes Absurd Universe! The band's debut delivers 10 slabs of brutal old school death metal precision.
Released in 1994, Emperors of Soul is a five-CD anthology with 109 key tracks taken from their 40-plus album catalog. Along with the Four Tops and the Supremes, the Temps became one of Motown's most successful acts, scoring an astounding 35 Top 40 entries during their prime.
POWERSTORM is basically a one-man-show and the exception to the rule concerning these musical projects. Kosta Falieros is behind the name Powerstorm and hails from a small county town of Greece, Kyveri. POWERSTORM was formed in 1995 and has released up to this day three demos and one full length album entitled “Act 1”.The musical style that Kostas serves is pure power metal and I must say I was completely blown away by the first hearing; here we have to deal with an honest and talented musician, who manages to balance between song writing and performing-not to mention the production and programming, all of this is his work!
A rap/metal act from Spain, Def Con Dos started playing covers of Public Enemy and Beastie Boys while touring Madrid's club scene under the name of Freddy Krueger y los Masters del Universo. Soon they recorded a demo called Primer Asalto, signed up to local label Dro, and released Segundo Asalto in February of 1990. A good chance to leave the underground came when Def Con Dos, also known as DCD, had the opportunity to open for Run-D.M.C. while the American rap band was touring Spain…

The first cd by Popa Chubby.Don't be scared off by the cover, Popa Chubby is the best thing to happen to blues-based rock in years! Outstanding guitar playing, ballsy yet soulful vocals, and great songs combine to make an essential CD for anyones collection. Listen to the samples, and if you don't like what you hear, you might have your ears checked!
THE TRACTORS The Tractors (Arista) This veteran Oklahoma quintet comes with a major league resume (they've backed Dylan, Raitt, Clapton) and a knack for laying down barrelhouse boogie and hard country with uninhibited joy. Thanks to vocalist Steve Ripley's leering growl, their blue-collar outlook (''I might not be broke/But I'm badly bent'') is delivered with a chuckle. The Tractors are outstanding in their field. –by Bob Cannon
This CD reissue brings back a classic album, one of the finest of drummer Max Roach's very productive career. The illustrious sidemen (trumpeter Booker Little; trombonist Julian Priester; Eric Dolphy on alto, bass clarinet, and flute; tenorman Clifford Jordan; pianist Mal Waldron; and bassist Art Davis, in addition to some guest percussionists) all have opportunities to make strong contributions and Dolphy's pleading alto solo on "Mendacity" is particularly memorable. Abbey Lincoln has two emotional and very effective vocals, but it is the overall sound of the ensembles and the political nature of the music that make this set (along with Roach's Freedom Now Suite) quite unique in jazz history.
Connie Lush is widely recognised as one of the finest blues singers that the United Kingdom has ever produced. This is the latest album from Connie, Terry and the latest members of the band. Connie is on great form and Terry is solid as usual, what a top bass player he is. The new guitarist is a real find and the drummer is not too shabby either. The production, recording and mastering is excellent and puts some larger studious to shame.
This performance was filmed & recorded at South Parade Pier in Southsea, England on June 13th 2004. It includes the original line-up playing a 19-song set and features an exclusive interview with Country Joe. In 2004, Country Joe re-formed some original members of Country Joe and The Fish as the Country Joe Band - Bruce Barthol, David Bennett Cohen, and Gary "Chicken" Hirsh. The band toured Los Angeles, Berkeley, Bolinas, Sebastopol, Grants Pass, Eugene, Portland and Seattle. They then made a 10-stop tour of the United Kingdom and played at the Isle of Wight and London. This excellent performance was filmed & recorded on that leg of the tour.
Over two and a half hours of the Grateful Dead broadcasting Live from New Years Eve 1987 into New Years Day 1988
Rock's longest, strangest trip, the Grateful Dead were the psychedelic era's most beloved musical ambassadors as well as its most enduring survivors, spreading their message of peace, love, and mind-expansion across the globe throughout the better part of three decades.
