The expertise and professionalism of the musical genius of Edmundo Ros and his orchestra on an album released in Spain reissuing the original released in England in 1963. The LP collects twelve songs that invite us to dance to Latin music. The musical arrangements are careful adaptation of all subjects to Latin American rhythms, including those of foreign origin. Above the musical style of some of the original scores Ros just offers styles like cha cha, mambo, merengue and even samba, tango, rumba and conga, that are a delight performed by this orchestra.

Lalo Schifrin may ultimately be most famous for his "Mission Impossible" theme, but his jazz credentials are more than solid. A distinctive composer, arranger, and pianist, the Argentine-born Schifrin had a famous stint as pianist for Dizzy Gillespie's small group during the early 1960s, and composed a number of large-scale projects for the master trumpeter. Schifrin has a deep understanding of both Latin and jazz idioms, abundant evidence of which can be found on the sprawling and infectious Latin Jazz Suite. Schifrin's six-movement composition echoes his momentous work for Gillespie, and the significant contributions of virtuoso trumpeter and Gillespie protégé Jon Faddis only highlight the influence.

Minneapolis virtuoso Steve Clarke lends his bari-sax to a Gogol Bordello meets Morphine surf-punk tune, “The Wolf”. Sinister vocals and dark grooves continue on side two of the record with “Fifth Fang”, a twisted tale of being strung out on the road. Twelve songs deep, Evil covers a lot of territory, seamlessly blending garage rock, heavy blues/punk, and a tinge of dark gypsy folk.
