Part two of Corea's solo piano series features standard tunes. There is a preponderance of Thelonious Monk music: "Monk's Dream," "Blue Monk," "Ask Me Now," and "'Round Midnight." Bud Powell, another piano legend whose music Corea has recorded and studied closely over the years, is represented by "Dusk in Sandi" and "Oblivion." The more universally familiar selections are "But Beautiful," "Thinking of You," "Yesterdays," "It Could Happen to You," "So in Love," "How Deep Is the Ocean," and "Brazil." Corea knows this music intimately and is uniquely able to mine each selection for fresh insights and possibilities. There are few pianists alive who equal Corea in stature and influence, and this beautiful concert recording reminds us of his continuing importance as an interpreter of jazz tradition.

Suicidal Tendencies are back with their first new album in 13 years and as a result have decided to call the disc ’13′ (which just so happens to be the name of the new Black Sabbath album, as well).The release of ‘13,’ due March 26, promises to be part of a very big year for the group as the band is celebrating its 30th anniversary. Keeping true to the ’13′ theme, the album has 13 tracks on it, including ‘Cyco Style’ which is the lead single. The energetic video for the track, which mostly consists of live footage, can be seen below.The ’13′ album also features a handful of special guests. Metal Mulisha’s Larry Linkogle and Jimmy Fitzpatrick turn up on ‘Smash It!,’ while pro skaters Danny Way, Tony Trujillo, Steve and Alex Olson, Vincent Alvarez, Elijah Berle and Jim ‘Red Dog’ Muir all lend a hand on ‘Show Some Love … Tear It Down.’

Jungle Rot have set Terror Regime as the title of their brand new offering, which will also be their eighth studio album in total. The death metal band has been recording new material for this new release that is set to hit stores on March 19th through Victory Records

As a solo artist, Steve Winwood is primarily associated with the highly polished blue-eyed soul-pop that made him a star in the '80s. Yet his turn as a slick, upscale mainstay of adult contemporary radio was simply the latest phase of a long and varied career, one that's seen the former teenage R&B shouter move through jazz, psychedelia, blues-rock, and progressive rock. Possessed of a powerful, utterly distinctive voice, Winwood was also an excellent keyboardist who remained an in-demand session musician for most of his career, even while busy with high-profile projects.

Few jazz artists can claim the versatility and breadth of musical sympathies of Herbie Hancock. His 1998 album Gershwin's World marked the centenary of the composer by putting his music in the context of the origins of jazz and ragtime, and featured a range of star singers. Taking the album on the road, the individual numbers gradually became abstracted into the instrumentals to be heard here.

The resulting 2 box set, unlike any other available today, groups together the main vocalists in the story of jazz from the first half of the 20th century. Each of these 20 CDs offers in more or less the same proportion, the purest of African-American song with gospel and blues singers, from truculent Ma Rainey to majestic Bessie Smith, sophisticated Sarah Vaughan to popular Louis Prima, the folk-related tones of Charlie Patton to the honeyed voice of Frank Sinatra.
