Alphaville's 2010 comeback album sets the time at defiance, playing as if the last two decades never existed, but the band's return to its prime form is so flawless the record sounds almost timeless. Thirteen years since their last commercial studio album, they pick up where synth pop left off: midtempo beats impossible not to tap to, romantic and nervous keyboard textures that take that space ambience of Kraftwerk and Tangerine Dream and put it to work, and dramatic vocals with a weepy edge, like Erasure is still the hottest new thing in town.

Red, Hot and Heavy is the debut album of the Danish Hard Rock/Heavy Metal band Pretty Maids produced by Billy Cross and released in 1984. This is the first full album by Pretty Maids. Their sound was more straight forward heavy metal back then. Raw and relentless rockers! Why would a metal band consisting of men name themselves Pretty Maids? "Because that's what we think about", or words to that effect, was the answer they gave when asked in their early days. Pretty Maids have become one of Denmark's longest-running metal bands.

Officium Triste was formed in April 1994 with the purpose of creating slow, heavy and melodic doom/death metal. Inspiration was mainly found within the music of bands like Paradise Lost, Anathema, Chorus of Ruin, My Dying Bride, Celestial Season and Katatonia. Dutch death/doom metal act Officium Triste, featuring vocalist Pim Blankenstein (The 11th Hour), will release its fifth studio release "Mors Viri" in the Spring of 2013 via Hammerheart Records. The album was recorded in Bergweiler, Germany at Pato Studio by Martin Kwakernaat

The Mystery of Time is the sixth full-length album by Tobias Sammet's rock opera project Avantasia. The album is due to be released on 29 March 2013.This is the first Avantasia release to feature the German Film Orchestra Babelsberg, the same orchestra that performed on Edguy's album Hellfire Club. The cover artwork was painted by Rodney Matthews.Limited editions of the album will include a second CD with instrumental versions of all the tracks on the album, with the exception of the two limited edition bonus tracks.

This archived recording is exceptional. While I appreciated Ashley Holt’s most appropriate vocals for the music it is the keyboard sprints throughout this live performance that captivated me. There is something about Rick’s playing that separates him from everyone else…

One of the most successful and admired opera singers of all time, Luciano Pavarotti was king among tenors from the late 1960s through the 1990s. His voice was noted for its exciting upper register, and tailor-made for the operas of Verdi, Bellini, Donizetti, and Puccini, and as it darkened slightly over the years, for the verismo composers as well. His vocal longevity, which kept him singing youthfully well into his sixties, and still beautifully after that, was a credit to his commanding technique and artistry, and remarkable considering his nearly 40 years of performing.

Carl Verheyen is probably best known as guitarist for Supertramp, and has also performed with Richard Elliott and Joe Jackson, among many others. An active studio musician, Verheyen has done work for television shows and commercials as well. His first album as a bandleader, 1988's aptly titled No Borders, demonstrated his skills in a wide variety of styles from jazz fusion to rock to country, and included an appearance by celebrated axeman Allan Holdsworth on one track.
