Two CD set. 2013 live release from one of the world's greatest guitar players. Joe Bonamassa is also evolving into a charismatic blues-rock star and singer-songwriter of stylistic depth and emotional resonance. His ability to connect with live concert audiences is transformational, and Joe Bonamassa: An Acoustic Evening at the Vienna Opera House captures the magnetism and maturity Bonamassa showcases as an artist. This set was recorded at the historic Vienna Opera House last July during a very special two-week long unplugged tour, played to a limited audience over seven exclusive European shows. Varying from his predominantly electric blues shows, this presentation was an all-acoustic concert performance, making it a unique and very special show fans had been waiting years to experience.
Few rock groups can claim to have broken so much new territory, and maintain such consistent brilliance on record, as the Velvet Underground during their brief lifespan. It was the group's lot to be ahead of, or at least out of step with, their time. The mid- to late '60s was an era of explosive growth and experimentation in rock, but the Velvets' innovations which blended the energy of rock with the sonic adventurism of the avant-garde, and introduced a new degree of social realism and sexual kinkiness into rock lyrics were too abrasive for the mainstream to handle.
The resulting 2 box set, unlike any other available today, groups together the main vocalists in the story of jazz from the first half of the 20th century. Each of these 20 CDs offers in more or less the same proportion, the purest of African-American song with gospel and blues singers, from truculent Ma Rainey to majestic Bessie Smith, sophisticated Sarah Vaughan to popular Louis Prima, the folk-related tones of Charlie Patton to the honeyed voice of Frank Sinatra.
This programme features the great jazz man John Coltrane in nine rare television performances, shot in the late 1950s and the early 1960s.
Coltrane appears in dazzling extended solos showcasing his trademark "sheets of sound" and demonstrates his mastery of tenor, alto and soprano sax and the unique artistry he brought to innovations in jazz and to music as a whole.
Four years have passed since the band delivered their opus “Into the Light”, and now we finally have them back with an even more melancholic and depressive release with “Salvation”. As the band has matured, their sound has greatly progressed and in this release the band focuses more on very emotive vocal melodies and killer atmospheric components that make this album a very bleak and emotional ride. Overall, “Salvation” is one hell of a release that any fan of Death/Doom Metal should have in their collection. The Prophecy has greatly matured musically over the years and yet they still retain some of their core elements, making their music very refined and extremely emotional. If you are looking for something like early Opeth with a more melancholic edge, “Salvation” is an album you should go and find immediately.

On the evening of December 18, 2010, 120 lucky Van Der Graaf Generator fans braved a blizzard to travel to Metropolis Studios, West London, to take in a rare UK appearance by Peter Hammill, Hugh Banton and Guy Evans. Among the most revered of the progressive rock groups to evolve in England during the late 60s and early 70s, VDGG performed songs from all stages of their career in an intimate atmosphere that was captured in a manner unlikely ever to be achieved again. The DVD also includes revealing interviews with all three band members.
Finally the second DVD from the magical prog festival in Veruno, Italy 2011. In these two lenghty DVD's you can follow Italian bands Il Tempo Delle Clessidre, Arti & Mestieri (guested by former King Crimsoners Mel Collins and David Cross), New Goblin, Alex Carpani Band and Maxophone. Sweden is represented by Agents Of Mercy, and Germany by RPWL.
A valued sideman, by the mid-'70s Duke would become a star and influential in his own right. For this 1974 MPS release, Frank Zappa had relinquished his studio time for Duke. The kind gesture immediately reverberated throughout jazz circles and beyond. By the time of this release, Duke's extensive resume included two stints with Zappa's Mothers of Invention as well as some time with saxophonist Cannonball Adderley. Although this would be the third album under his name, Feel's eclectic mix of fusion and rock is his debut in the genre of which he'd later become a leader.

In 1984, the band released their debut studio album, Red, Hot and Heavy, which was a success. More acclaim was followed with their second studio album, Future World, released in 1987. It was recorded in New York with renowned producer Eddie Kramer. The album is considered to define the band's definite sound, with typically aggressive rockers alongside more commercial, melodic moments.
