As a live performer, Richard Thompson has become nearly as well known for his dazzling solo acoustic performances as he has for his blazing full-band electric sets, but he hasn't displayed nearly as much enthusiasm for the acoustic guitar in the studio, usually limiting himself to one or two non-electric tunes on each of his albums (though 1996's You? Me? Us? features one disc of electric performances and another of acoustic material). Front Parlour Ballads marks Thompson's first full studio album of acoustic-oriented material since 1981's Strict Tempo!, and unlike that album, which was dominated by traditional material, this set features a bakers' dozen Thompson songs…

Mad Curry was one of the first progressive bands from Belgium - along with Laurelie, Waterloo & Irish Coffee. In addition they had a quite remarkable lineup for a rock band, with saxophone, Hammond organ, bass, drums and vocals, but no guitar - just like Van Der Graaf Generator. Soon after their debut single (also included here), in 1970 their eponymous (and now very rare and expensive) LP was housed in a very original fold-out poster cover and released on local Pirate's label. That excellent record was characterized by an attractive female voice (quite similar to Julie Driscoll and Carol Grimes), repeated time signatures and jazzy, underground feeling. This CD is necessary purchase for the fans of early Colosseum, Blodwyn Pig, Julian’s Treatment and Rare Bird.

An excellent debut album done by obscure and completely underrated US band from Detroit, produced by infamous Andrew Oldham (an early The Rolling Stones' manager) and released in 1971 on Motown’s Rare Earth label. With just one exception (the opening soul-rock track), this brilliantly recorded, very melodic, soft-progressive album consisted of very memorable and cleverly-arranged, stylish songs based on rich and strong Hammond organ sounds and attractive vocal parts. Some tracks are just unbelievably beautiful! Stylistically this record is not far away from 1967-68 Procol Harum era (and gems like 'A Whiter Shade Of Pale' & 'Repent Walpurgis') with more than a pinch of late 60’s The Beatles & early Traffic.

Kazaky presented a video for the second single titled «Touch Me» from the second studio album «I Like It». Shooting a new video took place at the airport, loaded flights Saturday afternoon. The author and director - Estonian music video Hindrek Maasik, who four months ago was shooting Kazaky in Tallinn prison for the first single «Crazy Law».

The lovely Carmen Maki was a popular female vocalist, sometimes being called a 'Japanese Janis Joplin' although she's also been likened to Grace Slick and even to a female Robert Plant! After a string of solo records she did a fantastic heavy progressive rock title with Blues Creation (1971). A few years later Maki formed a new group named Oz, which recorded 4 titles, including double live album. This excellent debut LP was released in January 1975 by Polydor Records and offered richly produced and very enjoyable combi nation of British-styled progressive rock tracks (sung in Japanese) similar to Barclay James Harvest and Pink Floyd, but also tightly arranged and quite powerful hard rock epics in Blues Creation and Deep Purple vein.

Mystic Dream is releasing its debut album, For the Sake of Humanity, in July 4th 2013.8 years ago, three young guys started jamming together and had a great chemistry. Dyscordia is a six man strong progressive/melodic metal band from Belgium.Recorded at the Road Mark Studios in Belgium in the spring of 2012, mixed by Jens Bogren at the Fascination Street Studios in Sweden and mastered by Tony Lindgren, Dyscordia's first full-length album 'Twin Symbiosis' features 11 tracks with a total playing length of 58 minutes. The artwork was done by Guy Commeene, reflecting and complementing the album's concept in the purest way possible.

This is NOT a better-known Demian group from Texas (popular for their classic, heavy rock LP on ABC Records from 1971), but completely different band which recorded their album… in Austin! This privately pressed and now very rare concept album was issued in 1974 by local Starburst label. It contains an excellent and quite eloquent rock opera, which sounds like 'The Doors meets early Bloodrock' - with trippy organ work and very fine and strong vocals similar to early David Bowie and Arthur Brown! It's very enjoyable record, with plenty of great hooks, an unusual psychedelic sounds and solid, hard rock music with a distinct, progressive tones. lt’s really hard to believe that this excellent LP was never reissued before! This CD edition was mastered from the original, pristine vinyl.
