"Micah" is a very little-known American progressive rock band from early 70s. Their music is a great blend of American hard/psychedelic rock style (like "Ford Theatre") and art/symphonic rock of such British formations like "Cressida", early "Deep Purple", "Beggar's Opera" or "Rare Bird"…

Album compilation of the best rumbas of the gipsy Catalan singer, guitarist and composer Pere Pubill Catalan Calaf (Mataró, 1935), alias 'Peret'. He was very popular in Spain since the late 60's to early 80's and was always in the record market in the so-called 'Catalan rumba', being considered without any discussion one of the great creators and disseminators of this gipsy style.

The Grateful Dead commemorated their first extended European tour with an extravagant triple-LP set appropriately enough titled Europe '72. This collection is fashioned in much the same way as their previous release – which had also been a live multi-disc affair. The band mixes a bevy of new material – such as "Ramble on Rose," "Jack Straw," "Tennessee Jed," "Brown-Eyed Woman," and "He's Gone" – with revisitations of back-catalog favorites. Among them are "China Cat Sunflower" – which was now indelibly linked to the longtime Dead cover "I Know You Rider" – as well as "Cumberland Blues," "Truckin'," "Sugar Magnolia," and "Morning Dew."

Currently a faculty member of the Washington Conservatory, Haskell Small received his musical training at the San Francisco Conservatory and Carnegie-Mellon University. He has studied piano with Leon Fleisher, William Masselos and Robert Sheldon and composition with Vincent Persichetti. His musical output is difficult to categorize. Nevertheless, it is clear that he is a throwback to the great composer/pianist tradition of the past …….

Britten had a great affinity with chamber music from an early age it provided him with the perfect medium for experimenting with and assimilating a wide variety of musical styles and techniques. Featuring his works for string quartet, this set is a fitting tribute to one of the 20th century's most accomplished chamber music composers.

Turpitude is the 5th and final album from Risk, and it's just as well, because this the first upon which the ambition of the band seemed to finally catch up with them in years. The content is not a far cry from its predecessor The Reborn, but the band had sacrificed some of the epic compositions there for a more bland repository of atmosphere, dull power/thrash…

By the time of 1986's Detroit Diesel, Alvin Lee had settled down somewhat. No longer were his songs simply showcases for his astonishingly fast technique, and he was able to open his blues jams into funky grooves. That doesn't mean that Detroit Diesel is a particuarly remarkable album, but it does have more enjoyable moments, such as the Stonesy "Too Late to Run for Cover," than the average latter-day Lee album.

"Octopus" is an album by British progressive rock band Gentle Giant, released in 1972. It marked a change in drummers from Malcolm Mortimore to John Weathers. The new line-up of the band delivered the Octopus album later in 1972, generally considered to represent the start of the band's peak period.
The hardest and most "rocking" Gentle Giant album to date, "Octopus" was allegedly named by Phil Shulman's wife Roberta as a pun on "octo opus" (eight musical works, reflecting the album's eight tracks).

Gentle Giant's fourth album has a harder, more rocking edge, making a striking contrast with their more symphonic third album. No doubt the reason was the introduction of John Weathers on drums. The album still contains a wide variety of sounds and textures, from the rocking power of "The Advent Of Panurge" to the vocal intricacies of "Knots" to the beauty of "Think Of Me With Kindness".
The title was allegedly invented by Phil Shulman's wife, Roberta. It is short for "Octo Opus," or eight musical works.
