RISING STORM, that is the name of Germany’s newest Metal formation. After a short disappearance from the Metal scene, they are ready to unleash what they created during the last years to conquer the seas of Metal! Founded in 2008, the four members have consistently followed their goal to produce and release their material without any la-bel influences. At first, the band played different gigs all over north Germany to still their thirst of music.At the beginning, the band played a couple of shows with the material until they played on the Metalfest 2012 in Dessau. The release of “Tempest” in July 2013 will clarify what potential RISING STORM has. This will not be short wind, easily forgot-ten.

Xavier Cugat's family emigrated to Cuba when he was 5. There he trained as a classical violinist until his family moved again to the U.S., where it eventually became very influential personality in the spread of Latin and Cuban popular music. Since 1931 he became director of the orchestra at the opening and then as a resident of the Waldorf Astoria in New York. Cugat recorded many albums for some of the best-known record labels (Columbia, RCA Victor, Mercury and Decca). Cugat's success in the U.S. allowed the luxury of having lots of money to hire the best musicians and arrangers of the time, with what he achieved splendid results, as shown here.

Record by renowned bandleader Ted Heath and his big band, formed in this case by four trombones, four trumpets, five saxophones, piano, bass and percussion. The LP offer 12 classic songs with spectacular and imaginative musical arrangements by the also British Johnny Keating, adding a colorful to the instrumental exercise provided by Heath and his band. The repertoire is surprisingly varied mixing classic and modern themes and enhancing stereo sound according to the custom of the 60s.

The first album from the little know Danish act is an eclectic mix of diverse music styles. Flagged as a Danish folk act, Bazaar could be a lot of things. There are folk influences a plenty here but it is a folk drawn from Northern European as well as Eastern European influences. In fact the band draw heavily from the folk scenes of countries like Bulgaria and Turkey, but play with a twist of Latin music and hints of rock, though they do so with a conservative approach.

In her brief lifetime, vocalist Eva Cassidy probably never thought that she would one day have something in common with rap legend 2Pac. But in the years following their deaths (oddly enough, both in 1996), studio and live recordings of the artists have continuously been unearthed and released to an eager public. Although 2Pac's musical vault seems to be never-ending, it appears that Eva Cassidy's savings box may have finally been emptied with the issuance of the Blix Street compilation Wonderful World. Mostly comprised of songs culled from her posthumous releases, Wonderful World seems to signal that there is precious little left that hasn't been heard and that a second "best-of" is an appropriate way to sum up Cassidy's recorded legacy.
