Why does Hilding Rosenberg's third symphony languish in obscurity whilst lesser works receive countless performances? This is a masterpiece, unmarred by a single superfluous bar, which contains some of the most moving music I have ever heard. Rosenberg's music betrays a first-rate intellect in full command of his material, achieving a fine balance between the tough contrapuntalism of the first subject and the tender poetry of the second. The sixth symphony does not scale the emotional heights of the third, but is well-argued and thoroughly enjoyable.
Recorded in Rio de Janeiro, From Havana to Rio showcases the strong playing of a master on a cross-cultural journey, back and forth between two of the most important focuses of Afro-Caribbean artistic creation. Brazil and Cuba share a common legacy, product of a similar historical experience. They share as well, a common projection in this new century. Ernan Lopez-Nussa travels at ease from one place to the other, speaking fluently in both musical languages. His own compositions are classy, elegant, and his re-interpretations of the wellchosen standards for this project are embedded with his trademark.
That the sturdy blues/rock/Americana sound of London area band Roadhouse travels has been evidenced time and time again by the international airplay that the ensemble garners with each successive album release. Thus far this new set seems to be gathering traditional attention and then some.
Gaia III: Atlantia album for sale by Mago De Oz was released Apr 27, 2010 on the Warner Bros. label. Spanish folk and heavy metal band Mägo de Oz was formed in 1988, although the group's definitive lineup didn't solidify until almost a decade later in 1996. Specializing in heavy metal with folk and Celtic touches, Mägo de Oz often works in album-length concept projects, and this set, Gaia III: Atlantia, released in 2010 as the group's tenth studio album, is no exception. Gaia III: Atlantia CD music is a 2-disc set with 16 songs.

Guests on the album include Brian May, Steve Vai, Patti Russo, Hugh Laurie, Jack Black, and Pearl Aday. This is the fourth studio album by Meat Loaf not to include any songs written by former collaborator Jim Steinman.
With its reboot of classic 70's / 80's jazz-funk, Rock Candy Funk Party (RCFP) delivers a sound that is as celebratory as the name suggests. The group is powered by a lineup of world renowned players who came together for the sheer fun of making music and a mutual love of genre-blurring grooves…
SMPT:e (AKA StoltMorsePortnoyTrewavas) is the first album of the progressive rock supergroup Transatlantic. The title is a play on words; SMPT:e is both a combination of the band members' initials and a type of time code used in recording technology.
