Serenity in Murder is a Japan-based band who play the genre of melodic death metal and do it with ease without fucking it up in anyway possible. The 9 songs on the album are all above average and on par with the feeling you would want to get out of a great melodic death metal release. Epic blackened shreaks from Hell! Give their debut album a shot. It's worth it.
This self-titled debut is an amazing collection, spotlighting the Malian guitarist in his full solo acoustic glory for a beautiful, intimate music that recalls American blues. The beauty of Ali Farka Toure lives in Toure's light, nimble touch on the strings as well as his flexible, reedy voice, which both perfectly complement his gentle, ambling rhythmic style.
Hans-Martin Linde and his consort of period instruments emphasize the glories of Bach's marvellous tonal palette, making much of the sonorities afforded by the writing. From beginning to end these are performances which set the blood coursing through one's veins; Linde reckons that if Bach went to the trouble of scoring movements for trumpets, drums, oboes, bassoons and strings, then he probably was aiming at vivid, if not heroic gestures. Will Wynton's omnivorous appetite ever be satisfied? Seemingly enthralled with the string quartets of Bartók, he tries to write one of his own that basically takes off upon Bartók's (and America's Charles Ives') own methods of drawing upon vernacular language to create thoroughly contemporary classical music. While Bartók's inspiration was Hungarian folk music, Marsalis, like Ives, seems to draw upon American fiddle tunes and blues.
Award-winning sound healers Dudley and Dean Evenson present music that is a perfect complement for Reiki, massage, and all healing modalities. Eastern musical flavors soothe the soul and create a sacred ambience for energy healing to occur. Tamboura, Tibetan singing bowls, chimes, and Chinese zither blend with Dean Evenson's signature keyboard orchestrations. Deep alto flute, harp, soft bass rhythms, and viola enhance the healing mood and resonate with recurring tones of OM. Includes Earth Resonance Frequency for deeper relaxation.amazon
Almost every one of Peter Gabriel’s best-laid plans winds up going awry, and so it was with Scratch My Back, his 2010 collection of orchestral covers of some of his favorite songs. He had hoped to have the artists he covered return the favor by interpreting his songs but that project never got off the ground, so he pursued New Blood, an album where he turned that orchestra upon his own songs.
As Dizzy Reece's first album for Blue Note, Blues in Trinity goes a long way to establish the trumpeter's signature sound. Reece doesn't take chances stylistically; he prefers to stay within the confines of hard bop. Nevertheless, he has a bold, forceful sound that simply burns with passion. Even on slower numbers, there's a fire to his playing that keeps Blues in Trinity from being predictable. The high quality of the album is even more impressive given the recording circumstances.
The word "supergroup" has often been used to describe O.S.I., one of the best-known progressive metal/progressive rock acts to emerge in the United States in the 2000s – and considering who has been leading O.S.I., that word is not an exaggeration…
Without doubt in dusty cupboards around the world there lies original live performance footage of some of the greatest music ever produced. The sound or picture quality may not always be of today's high-tech standard but the essence of jazz is when performer and audience unite to celebrate the music. Quantum Leap have been scouring the world to build a catalogue of live performance that can truly be described as "The Essence Of Jazz" with a respectful acknowledgement to the blues as well.
In 2005, Faithless,(DJ Rollo, Sister Bliss and Maxi Jazz) celebrated 10 years together. This DVD features the band performing their hits onstage and in music videos. Songs include "Salva Mea," "Don't Leave," "God Is a DJ," "Take the Long Way Home," "Bring My Family Back," "Tarantula," "Mass Destruction," "Muhammad Ali" and "I Want More." This band is phenomenal! Those who are fans know exactly what I'm talking about. I don't know why they don't come to the U.S. but I REALLY wish that they would. Check them out in a rare live performance on DVD "Live at Alexandra Palace". If you like Dido (DJ Rollo's sis), Massive Attack, Groove Armada and other similiar acts you'll absolutely love FAITHLESS.
