Originally the lyrics and musical landscape were sketched out by Lou for a theatrical production in Berlin, but after coming together with Metallica for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame concerts in 2009 all guilty parties knew they wanted to make more music together. Lou was inspired enough by that performance to recently ask the band to join him in taking his theatrical Lulu piece to the next level and so starting in early May of this year they were all camped out recording at HQ studios in Northern California, bringing us to today and ten complete songs.

Water on the Road is a film released on DVD and Blu-ray by American singer and Pearl Jam frontman Eddie Vedder. It documents Vedder's 2008 solo tour, during which he performed Pearl Jam songs, numerous covers, and solo works including songs from the Into the Wild Soundtrack. The film features mostly performances from two shows Vedder performed on August 16 and 17, 2008, at Warner Theatre in Washington, D.C. It was released on May 31, 2011.

Lorenzo Thompson (Chicago) and Jose Luis Pardo (Argentina) met in the late 90´s in Buenos Aires. Several years and shuffles later, destiny reunited them in a wild and fun tour around all Spain. By the end of the tour in Sept. 2010, they went into Studio in Mallorca Island with local band Big Yuyu´s solid base and Quique Gomez playing harp. The result is an exquisite blues album payin homage to the greats but with a refined and fresh touch. Both Pardo and Jordi Alvarez play the true stuff with short but accurate solos. The voice of Lorenzo fills every room and this you will hear. Quique´s big sound in his harmonica easily reminds us of Little Walter and Pep on drums and Juan Amaro on bass are not playing one wrong note in the entire CD. Enjoy this piece of recent blues history.

Reluctantly dubbed as a supergroup, Chickenfoot (consisting of former Van Halen members Sammy Hagar (vocals) and Michael Anthony (bass), solo musician Joe Satriani (guitar) and Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith) released their eponymous debut in early June of 2009. "Chickenfoot III" finds the band fully embracing its history and influences to create an album that plays to every one of its strengths. Whether you're a Van Halen fan looking for something to hold you over until next year, or just a fan of classic hard rock sounds, you're going to find plenty to love here.

As the original guitarist of Stax Records house band Booker T. & The M.G.'s., Steve Cropper has had a storied career. Voted #36 on Rolling Stone's 100 Greatest Guitarists Of All Time, Cropper has worked with blues legends such as Otis Redding, Wilson Pickett, and the Blues Brothers Band. His debut album on 429 Records is a tribute to R&B and doo wop act, The 5 Royales. The collection features reworked versions of the groups most enduring songs, and includes duets with Lucinda Williams, Bettye LaVette, John Popper, Sharon Jones, and others.

Pink was not only the unlikeliest of pop stars to grab the reins of success in the 2000s, but she outdid her similarly marketed contemporaries, scoring an impressive succession of hit singles. Even when she hit bumps in the road she bounced back, adding different elements to her sound without changing its core. She is one of the few who hit the mainstream circa 1999 who maintains staying power, and "Greatest Hits…So Far!!!" proves why…

Coordinated by acoustic Delta guitarist Steve James (who also penned the liner notes and appears on two tracks), this is a respectful but refreshingly not-always-reverent tribute to the undisputed king of the Delta blues. Although there are only 12 tracks and some of Patton's defining tunes – like "Screamin' and Hollerin' the Blues" and "A Spoonful Blues" – are MIA, these performances capture the spirit of Patton and show how his legacy extends to contemporary blues musicians.

The final Riverside release of Wes Montgomery material (before the important label went completely bankrupt) was similar to his debut four years earlier: a trio with organist Melvin Rhyne and an obscure drummer (this time George Brown). The CD reissue even includes one leftover track from the earliest session ("Missile Blues") along with newer jams and a pair of "bonus tracks" – an alternate take of "The Way You Look Tonight" and a brief "Unidentified Solo Guitar" piece. In general, the music swings hard (particularly the two versions of "The Way You Look Tonight"), and is a worthy if not essential addition to Wes Montgomery's discography. He would have a few straight-ahead dates for Verve, but this release was really the end of an era.
